TRADEONE ADMINISTRATION AND REPORTING SYSTEMS COMPATIBLE WITH WORLD TECHNOLOGY LEADER
Situation Client wanted to calculate revenue at the parts’ number level including all the different price levels for each product. Of course, each part number (for each participant) has more than one price depending on the type of sale. Channel partners needed to report revenue by part number for each participant and roll-up by sub-segment, segment and brand. The client requested TradeOne handle the following:
- Receive weekly EDI sales files (have done this on a monthly basis)
- Perform download into that has the option of calculating percentages based on products or programs selected (and enrolled in)
- Loaded as an accrual or separate as revenue only
- Measured against an overall program target or on an individual basis
- Report in summary format with the option of detail at the invoice level
Action TradeOne built a product table in its Oracle® database to hold the different price levels, the codes to determine the sub-segments and how the roll up to the brands. TradeOne then developed a participant product table to assign specified products to participants and specific prices (one or more) based on the type of sale. TradeOne also developed a reporting website that smaller individual participants use to enter their own sales information. The system calculates an accrual/revenue amount based on a product table with set prices for specific products. TradeOne is then able to report by brand and/or specific segment within a brand as well as by product.
The TradeOne system and processes have been ASCA certified (several times) even though it is not necessary, and TradeOne has documented the security checkpoints with multiple controls for receipt of information, processing of information and output of information.
Results The TradeOne system calculates the revenue using the price for that participant and sale, reports it at the parts’ number level, the sub-segment level and roll the revenue up to the brand level. TradeOne then “slices” the data and sends specific brand information to each specific brand department for internal reporting and tracking uses as well as feeding directly into the client’s revenue database.
As importantly, this system is so reliable that it is used by the client in calculating internal commissions, based on different percentages different some brands or types of sales.
